Lemay+CHA and Lemay+DAA is proud to be awarded the 2015 Regional Honour in the Planning and Analysis category for the Dominion Bridge Masterplan by the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Award of Excellence.
Dominion Bridge is a visionary plan that transforms an abandoned industrial complex into a vibrant mixed-use ecodistrict along the Lachine Canal. Open spaces, connectivity, and the site’s genius loci are given precedence, creating a welcoming environment that supports accessible and convivial urban living at a human scale.
While the uniqueness of the space and the industrial history of the site are highlighted, this new urban structure is an extension of the surrounding neighbourhoods. Shared streets, public spaces, pedestrian and cycling paths are open onto the Lachine Canal, thereby reconnecting the life of the city with life along the water’s edge.
